About Us

Brief History of the School

Established in 1973 by the renowned Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society, Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Tarn Taran stands as a beacon of academic excellence and value-based education. As the first English-medium school in the region affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, the institution has played a pioneering role in transforming the educational landscape of Tarn Taran.

With a proud legacy of more than five decades, the school continues to provide value-oriented, quality education of international standards. True to the teachings of our Gurus, SGHPS nurtures in its students a harmonious balance between spiritual strength and intellectual growth, ensuring they remain deeply rooted in Sikh ethos and moral values while excelling in academics and co-curricular pursuits.

Today, the school caters to the educational needs of over 3000 students from Pre-Nursery to Class XII, offering a vibrant learning environment where curiosity, creativity, and character development go hand in hand. Through a blend of modern pedagogy, co-curricular exposure, and value education, SGHPS Tarn Taran aims to shape socially responsible, confident, and competent individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to society.

Our Motto: Soaring to Excellence

At SGHPS Tarn Taran, we believe that every child is capable of greatness. Students are encouraged to ideate, innovate, and explore, to think independently, and to find answers through curiosity and self-reliance. Guided by our motto, “Soaring to Excellence,” the school inspires learners to strive for the highest standards in all spheres of life — academic, moral, and spiritual.
